Biography
Charleesa's musical roots run deep. Her grandfather was a jazz double bassist who toured Europe and performed beneath the Eiffel Tower. Her mother, Jacqueline, a singer, poet, and holistic healer was Charleesa’s first fan, often guiding her onto the stage.
Growing up in the UK during the 80s/90s pop and club explosion, Charleesa was influenced by MTV, Top of the Pops, and the voices of icons she emulated. By age 14, she was performing original songs a cappella and receiving standing ovations.
From Southern England to Asia, and finally Austria, Charleesa's music reflects the landscapes and cultures she’s experienced. ‘LMTD Dreaming’ was written while apple-picking in Kent and recorded in a converted caravan. ‘Keep Climbing’, written in Nepal, inspired a mountain climber to summit their goal. ‘Powerhouse ’ composed in Nepal, along with other pop anthems came to life in Vienna.
Charleesa’s sound evolved dramatically when she joined forces with Austrian DJ/producer Andreas Weisz, creating a bold fusion of synth-pop, groove, and storytelling. Using her Boss RC-505 loop station, she takes inspiration from artists like Aurora, Dub FX, Sahida Apsara & Ayla Nero to craft layered performance that pulse with emotion.
